  • There’s nothing like a chai latte to warm the soul! My love of them is what made me want to create this ‘Caffeine free chai’ blend, below is one of my recipe’s for this much loved brew!

  • Chai latte recipe

    The measurements in this recipe are a guide as it depends on how strong you like the mix but I generally use 1 tbsp to a mug.

    To start, pour a mugful of your preferred milk (I like to use oat milk) into a saucepan then add 1 tbsp of caffeine free chai, simmer on a low heat for about 10 mins, then strain the tea, if you like a ‘frothy latte’ you can use a whisk or milk frother, dust with a pinch of ground cinnamon and sweeten to taste, I recommend maple syrup! Sit back and enjoy!

     

  • Brief history

    The chai we know now and the much loved beverage in India usually contains black tea leaves, but early versions of this spiced tea contained no actual tea leaves, just a mix of herbs and spices. It was originally created as an Ayurvedic* herbal tonic due to the many benefits of the herbs and spices used, and is drunk throughout the day to lift the spirits and help in keeping good health!

  • Spiced peach ice tea recipe

    As well as making a chai latte from this blend it also makes a very refreshing ice tea! i like to add fresh peaches to the mix to make a spiced peach ice tea, it has quite a long steeping time but it’s nice and easy to prepare!

    The measurements in this recipe are a guide as it depends on how strong you like the mix but I generally use 1 tbsp to half a litre of water.

    To start, fill the kettle with fresh water and bring to the boil, then add 1 tbsp of caffeine free chai to a jug, pour half a litre of freshly boiled water into the jug, leave it to cool, once cooled you can add a few sliced peaches into the jug, cover and pop in the fridge, you can either leave this overnight or leave for about 6 hours.

    Once its nicely steeped, strain the mixture through a fine sieve, the peach slices should be nice and soft so I usually press them through the sieve with a spoon, sweeten to taste either with honey or sugar, if you want you can add a few fresh slices of peach to garnish or keep it simple with a handful of ice cubes!
